CANINE ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION
High quality K9 fertility with an Amazing Service
Please Note:
As of June 2023, Intravaginal Artificial Insemination has been re-evaluated and has now been deemed an act of veterinary surgery and can only be performed by a vet. In light of this we can no longer offer this as a service. We are however offering a supervised mating service to aid your dogs in the mating naturally.
Rest assured we are doing everything we can to get this resolved, we have contacted DEFRA and the RCVS regarding a special course for people already qualified to carry out this procedure and we are awaiting the outcome. It is extremely frustrating for us that are qualified to do this job and for people who want to breed their dog in a safe and stress free way. Unfortunately it does only seem to be targeted at dogs and not any other animal group which is obviously disappointing to all involved in the responsible breeding of healthy dogs.
If you are unsure about anything or need some advice on the best way to go moving forward then please do not hesitate to give us a call and we’ll be happy to assist you further.
Below is a snippet from the RCVS website.
***At its May 2023 meeting the Standards Committee agreed the following guidance on the topic of canine intravaginal AI, confirming a limitation on who is legally entitled to undertake the procedure:
Intravaginal artificial insemination of bitches is now an act of veterinary surgery which should only be undertaken by a veterinary surgeon or a professional with a relevant exemption, such as a registered veterinary nurse under direction.
As there is no specific exemption order allowing lay people to undertake this procedure, they are currently legally prohibited from doing so regardless of training or qualifications.
Note that canine transcervical artificial insemination is also an act of veterinary surgery subject to the same restrictions, although the invasive nature of this procedures means that it should not be delegated to registered veterinary nurses. Canine surgical artificial insemination is prohibited by UK animal welfare legislation.***

Canine Artificial Insemination Near Me.
For the best chances of a successful mating by any method relies upon mating at the optimum time of your girls heat cycle and a good way to determine this is by performing Cytology Ovulation Testing.
By doing this a mating can be done closer to the true ovulation period. This is especially essential for using chilled and frozen semen for insemination. This is why we stress the use of Ovulation Testing before every mating
